Donnie walks around Beantown Tavern, greeting customers like old friends. And many of
them are. He has been in Charlotte for 13 years, leaving his beloved Boston behind.
"To see the same people every day is a real joy," he says.
Many of those people are Tradebank customers. They make up a small but growing part of
Beantown's clientel. We caught up with Donnie in early March and asked him some

How long have you been in the Restaurant Business? |

Years! When I was 13 I started working in a Country
Club that my Aunt owned. I was a disherwasher, then a
busboy, a cook, then a waiter and finally a bartender.
Even in college, I worked as a bartender. |
